## Run OCR  conversion for the current file

Open your PDF document.

In the <font color="#fd0024">**OCR**</font> tab, click on **Current file**.

This will display the **PDF Pro OCR** options menu.

<font color="#2166ae">**❶** </font>**Page range**: Select the page or pages you would like to convert.

<font color="#2166ae">**❷**  </font>**Languages**: Select the language being converted.

<font color="#2166ae">**❸** </font>**Recognition mode**: There are 2 options, **Searchable** text and **Editable** text.

### Searchable text

This option converts the image to searchable text fields. It will not permit you to edit the text. You can select the text with the Text Select Tool, but the characters cannot be edited. To find specific words or phrases, use the [Search Tool](docId\:CRg7mCBhE9xZLm8PFE1-Y) to scan the document for searchable text.

### Editable text

This option converts the image to editable and searchable text fields. The text can be edited, (for more information see this link - [How to EDIT a PDF](docId\:Fza9vid5tLjJfzk-VgTsq) ), but for the best editing results, we recommend [Converting to Word](docId:3VUYGKwLqGtP7rGwLgH8g) especially for large text edits.
