drawing lines and shapes you can add arrows, lines, rectangles, clouds and ellipses to a pdf each has its own settings for color, thickness, transparency, and stroke style to draw a straight line in pdf pro open pdf pro, and find the shapes section which can be found in two locations in the markup markup tab and the home home tab markup tab shapes home tab shapes once found, you have 2 options to create a line (or shape) the first option is to simply click on the picture of the line you can change the width and color settings before creating the line on the pdf select the line image the second option is to click on the small triangle icon ▼ ▼ to open the dropdown menu to select the type of line you would like type of line menu after selecting the line type, left click and hold where you want the line to start drag to where you want it to end, then release the mouse button this opens the line settings where you can adjust the line’s appearance visual example of creating the line note this is the same for any of the shapes (arrows, lines, rectangles, clouds and ellipses) selected line settings you can select different symbols for the start and end points just click on the box and a menu will appear for you to make a choice end point menu options the pattern box also has options available from a pull down menu pattern menu options below is an example of how the adjustments in line settings can be used example of user settings ❶ ❶ under the general section, the transparency , fill color and lock annotation can be adjusted in this example the transparency was set to allow the viewer to see text under the rectangle ❷ ❷ the stroke section allows you to edit the color , thickness and pattern of the border in this example, a red, wiggly, 2 pixel border was created
