You may restrict the usage of a PDF file by setting a password.
A password restricts access and usage to a PDF document to authorized users; anyone with the password will be able to open and use the PDF.
Under the SECURE tab, click Password .

This will bring up the File security properties dialog box.
Password settings
❶ Choose this option to prompt users for a password to access the document.
❷ Select this option to allow the user to change settings and access specific functions.
❸ Once complete, click Finish to apply the password settings.
Note: To test the password settings, you must save and close the file after applying the changes. When you reopen the file, the password request screen will appear.
