you may restrict the usage of a pdf file by setting a password a password restricts access and usage to a pdf document to authorized users; anyone with the password will be able to open and use the pdf under the \<font color="#ff0000">secure\</font> tab, click password password icon this will bring up the file security properties dialog box \<font color="#2166ae">❶ \</font> choose this option to prompt users for a password to access the document \<font color="#2166ae">❷ \</font> select this option to allow the user to change settings and access specific functions \<font color="#2166ae">❸ \</font> once complete, click \<font color="#ef4444">finish\</font> to apply the password settings note to test the password settings, you must save and close the file after applying the changes when you reopen the file, the password request screen will appear
