Creating a PDF
Create a file

access from the create create tab to start, open pdf pro pdf pro , press the create create tab, this will display the new file creation options create tab new file (blank) to create a blank pdf, click the new file option from the menu ribbon menu choice new file this will open the page setup for the new file choose your desired settings, then click continue continue to create the blank document you can then proceed to create content for the document blank page settings create from file click create from file this option allows you to create a pdf from one or more existing files to work with in pdf pro ribbon menu choice create from file this will display the selections available to the user see steps 1,2,3 and 4 to create a pdf from an existing file ❶ ❶ destination where the file will be saved ❷ ❷ pdf types the following pdf types are available regular pdf, pdf/a 1b, pdf/a 2b, pdf/ 3b) the most common is regular pdf ❸ ❸ add files click either the + icon on the screen or menu choice add files to locate the file/s you want to use additional information is shown on the screen when you click the expand help expand help link ❹ ❹ once you're satisfied with your selection, click create create the batch processing status screen will appear next the top bar indicates the progress of the individual file being processed the bottom bar shows the overall progress of the pdf being created progress bars scan pdf pro has a tool that allows you to create a pdf file with an installed scanner pdf pro allows you to scan individual pages to pdf as an image to convert images of text into machine readable text, ocr (optical character recognition) software is required and is available only with a subscription ocr software is only available with a subscription to pdf pro + ocr ribbon menu choice scan there are 2 options on this menu choice the first option is when you click directly on the text ( scan ), the following selection screen will appear click the text scan shows the following the output can be selected for new document a new document will be created append select another document that the scan can be added to save as a new file name can be made with options from the pull down menu the second option appears when you click the small triangle icon ▼ ▼ , this will open the quick scan menu click the symbol "▼" shows the following the quick scan preferences displays the following options merge files pdf pro makes it easy to merge or combine multiple documents into a single pdf file the process is similar to creating a pdf from a single file to merge any type of file (image, ms office or word document, and other pdfs) into a single pdf file click the merge files option from the menu ribbon menu choice merge files this will display the selections available to the user see steps 1,2 and 3 to create a pdf from an existing files ❶ ❶ destination where the file will be saved ❷ ❷ add files click either the + icon on the screen or menu choice add files to locate the file/s you want to use additional information is shown on the screen when you click the expand help expand help link add files and expand help options find one of the files you want to merge, then click “open” repeat the process for all files you wish to merge open each file you require after you have added all of the files you wish to merge, you can arrange their order within the document before creating the final document ( click and drag the file thumbnails to reorder them ) visual demonstration of the steps for merging files into a pdf ❸ ❸ once you're satisfied with your selection, click create create the batch processing status screen will appear next the top bar indicates the progress of the individual file being processed the bottom bar shows the overall progress of the pdf being created progress bars
